How to choose the right sunglasses for your face shape and/or event

Updated: Mar 13, 2019

Of course the primary reason to wear sunglasses is for protection from the sun's harmful rays, but the reality of it is that aside from protection, sunglasses provide a finishing touch to all of our looks. We all know that no matter the season, a great pair (or pairs) of sunglasses is MANDATORY. The question is are we choosing the correct shape and tint to complement our faces and are they functional or just for fashion? Here are some helpful hints to look for when choosing your next pair of sunnies:

*Choose a pair that fits.

*Find a contrast between your face shape and the glasses shape. Choose a lens shape that defines your facial angles (for example a woman with a round face looks great in a cat eye.)

*Rounded frames are great with a square shaped face.

*A long face looks great in rectangular shapes.

*A flat face looks great in ovals such as aviators.

Aside from framing our faces and completing our fashion accessorizing needs, who is aware of the functionality of the colors in the lens of our trendiest frames?

*Grey lenses are great for driving because they reduce the lights intensity without distorting colors.

*Brown and Amber yellow lenses block blue light and hence are great for snow and outdoor sports including hunting but are not good for driving.
